Organic food is a growing business with good long-term prospects. The demand for the organic foods is rising in domestic as well as in export markets. Emergence of modern format retail, growing concerns for health, increasing purchasing power of consumers has accelerated the growth of organic food sector in India. Although, Govt. of India and various agencies are promoting organic farming through its various schemes like NHM, RKVY, etc, a systematic approach including all stakeholders of organic sector is important for developing Indian organic sector. Networking activities to create strategic alliances to boost both market access and farm productivity should be the priority.
Realizing the importance of Organic farming, Shri Ram Agro Innovatives was established in year 2016 for the development of sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture system in the country.
Since last 5 years, we are intensively engaged with farmers across Indian states in motivating them to adopt chemical free agriculture system and help them to get their land and produce certified as per govt. and buyers norms. We are committed to provide both backward and forward linkages to farmer groups through providing quality organic input services and creating suitable market linkages.
Organic Farming Potential alternatives to chemical pesticides, fertilizers and other inputs are available in nature and these are not in conflict with nature. Such biological and natural inputs include extracts of plant origin bio-fertilizers, bio-herbicides, organic manure. In addition, the adoption of different cultural practices can not only lead to enhanced productivity and control of not only weeds and pests but also obviate the use of weedicides and pesticides. Organic farming has been considered as an agricultural production system that abides or excludes the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators and feed additives. This system mostly depends on locally available plant/animal resources, crop rotations, crop residues, animal manures, legumes, green manures, organic waste and biological control of pest and disease management for qualitative and quantitative crop production by using indigenous seed material (definitely not of genetically engineered origin). Organic farming focuses on increasing soil fertility by advocating organic compost (as organic manures) to enrich the soil living system, bio-pesticides for pest and disease control, indigenous seeds/vegetative clones for viable production etc. Organic farming technology is used as a general label for systems of agriculture like, Alternative Agriculture, Ecological Agriculture, Classical Agriculture, Permaculture, Bio-intensive Agriculture, Indigenous Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture, Bio-dynamic farming, Eco-friendly farming etc.
The components of organic farming technology includes the following:
(1) Maintain Soil health and biological activity of composting.
(2) Cropping systems include indigenous seed, crop rotation, companion cropping, inter cropping, etc.
(3) Use of bio-dynamic planting calendar based on lunar movements, for agriculture practices
(4) Water management systems to various crops in different agro climatic zones with proper irrigation systems.
(5) Crop Protection that includes use of bio-pesticides and biological control agents.
(6) Agronomical and ecological approaches for well being to the crop plants and human interactions
(7) Utilization of on farm inputs, for healthy Bio-fertilizer preparation.
